The Seattle Festival of Trees at the Fairmont hotel is always a fabulous way to start the holiday season, and this year's event did not disappoint. On Saturday evening at the gala, guests learned more about the work of Seattle Children's Autism Center from Dr. Bryan King, the event honoree, CEO Dr. Jeff Sperring, parent speakers, and others, while enjoying a delicious gourmet dinner and live auction in the stunningly beautiful Fairmont Hotel ballroom.
The Sunday Celebration was also a huge success, with two choirs, Santa, cookies, storytelling, hot chocolate and an extensive selection of gift items, from holiday decor to children's items. Almost $500,000 was raised, thanks to the generosity of auction bidders, sponsors and other donors. None of this would have been possible without the time and effort put in all weekend and all year by countless volunteers, who made sure every detail was taken care of. Whether it was behind the scenes or out in front, every person's contribution made a difference and helped make this year's event one of the best ever.
There are too many to thank by name, but a huge, heartfelt thank you goes out from the Autism Center Guild and the Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild to all volunteers, donors, sponsors and guests who made this possible.
